Sport Science S02E11: World’s Toughest Woman (June/21/2009)

"Gina can land all 8 blows in a blistering 3 seconds. And how much does this maelstrom combine to generate? An amazing 4,800 pounds of force. That’s like a North Pacific giant octopus pounding you with all 8 of it’s arms. Translation: In 3 seconds, Gina could brake your ribs, give you a concussion, shatter your nose, rupture your spleen, cause internal bleeding, and put you down for the count."

If Gina ever becomes an instructor I’d definitely look into being trained by her. Whatever she’s doing is obviously working.

Great Barrier Reef not in danger, says government report to United Nations

Yeah, and I remember when our G-Men told us we’d leave the Middle East after Afghanistan. Such complete idiocy and blatant disregard for anything other than cash and cushy government desk jobs. This is what I believe was the purpose of the WA shark culling, to distract the general populace and the media away from this topic until its too late too effectively protest. Or, at least that’s what members of the AU government and this mining corporation are hoping for.

Pictures of the thousands of people that protested against the shark cull this weekend in Australia

Okay, let me explain you a thing.

I live in Western Australia, in the small town up the coast with a large seafood industry (heard of Kailis? yeah that’s us) and because we have such a large focus on fishing and heaps of people go out and catch fish to take home and cook for dinner, thus leaving nothing for the sharks to eat, the same situation applies to Perth, so by taking away the food source for the sharks it is cause them to then eat people, which is a danger to us, and I’d love to watch any of these protesters try to explain to a someone who lost a limb or a family who lost a child to a rouge shark why we should let them overpopulate.

There is a 100% less cruel way to keep the shark population under control, which is to bring back legal shark fishing and renew all the licenses, because shark-fishers use the entire shark for food and such instead of dragging the carcass out to sea and letting it rot there.

So yes, the way they are trying to control the shark population is wrong, but no the reason.

Wow the amount of inaccuracy in that response almost put me in a coma

^^Dude, no offense(really, I mean no personal offense to you). But as far as your uninformed and clearly ignorant opinion on aquatic conservation goes… F*** you. F*** the plane you rode in on. F*** the shoes you have. F*** the socks that you are wearing with said shoes. F*** all the years you ever sat in public school(clearly not paying attention in any science). And lastly, f*** you for lacking to cite any sources of any kind while describing your lovely plan to continue hunting creatures which are down over 70% of their original population due to these fear induced cullings and over fishing which you claim in this case(without evidence) will somehow work differently than it previously has all the while a f***ing nuclear power plant in Japan is radically changing the natural order of things under the waves in ways men and women of aquatic sciences won’t understand for possibly decades.
Again, I’m sorry if you find yourself offended by my retort. I don’t think you’re a bad person, I just think your grossly ill informed like most of the world is right now on the topics of conservation especially with an animal as misunderstood as sharks.
To be honest though, I doubt you are as deeply offended by my retort as I was by your clearly ignorant stance on this subject. We as humans, having been given the gift of higher intelligence, are tasked with the protection of the natural beauty of this planet, aquatic and otherwise. If everyone doesn’t start getting schooled up at some point on this and topics like this, humankind may end up being the last living creatures on a barren, toxic, and lifeless planet we all used to collectively call Earth.
Get schooled up man. The world needs everyone to chip in.
